LSU Law School is shining a spotlight on its Hispanic Law Students Association (HLSA) for their efforts in fostering inclusivity and connections among students. The association has organized a series of events to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from September 15th to October 15th.
The Law Center will host various activities, including a movie night and a Celebration on the Plaza. The latter will feature a lively Mariachi band and an array of delicious Hispanic food for all attendees to enjoy. These events aim to create a community for Latinx students to meet new people and celebrate their rich culture.
HLSA President Yenifer Flores expressed her excitement about the organization's growth at LSU Law each year. She emphasized the importance of HLSA in her own law school experience and hopes it will be equally valuable for future students. Flores also highlighted the valuable connections that can be formed between senior and first-year law students, as she personally received guidance and advice from older students when she first joined the club.
The HLSA student officers, led by President Yenifer Flores, are working tirelessly to make this month-long celebration a success. Their faculty advisor, Professor Lisa Avalos, provides guidance and support to the association. All current LSU Law students are welcome to become members of HLSA and attend any events they wish, or they can join the GroupMe created by the organization to receive updates on all events and news.
Thanks to the efforts of the Hispanic Law Students Association, LSU Law School is fostering a connected and inclusive campus community. By celebrating Latinx culture and promoting meaningful collaborations among all students, the association is making a positive impact on the law school experience for all.
