New Orleans Associate Shiena Marie N. Burke was selected by the Louisiana Bar Foundation (LBF) as one of four contributors for the 2023-2024 Speak Out for Justice! Focus on Civil Legal Aid, a program of the LBF Education committee which seeks proposals for Public Awareness and Research.
Mrs. Burke’s proposal focuses on an independent analysis on the needs of the Veteran population in Louisiana, examining the needs of the community and offering proposals to encourage awareness and highlight outreach initiatives throughout the State of Louisiana. The Louisiana Bar Foundation exists to preserve, honor, and improve the system of justice by funding, developing, or otherwise promoting efforts which enhance the legal profession, increase public understanding of the legal system and advance the reality of equal justice under the law.
Mrs. Burke is a member of Lewis Brisbois’ Insurance Coverage & Bad Faith Litigation Practices. Prior to joining Lewis Brisbois, she held a federal clerkship with the Department of Labor, Office of Administrative Law Judges for two years. She then moved to private practice to defend clients in Longshore, Defense Base Act and Black Lung litigation.
