A Jennings resident claims a 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe was defective.

Allie Chapman filed the federal lawsuit against General Motors.

According to the complaint, Chapman purchased the Tahoe from All Star Chevrolet in Baton Rouge on March 30, 2022. The total contract price of the vehicle, including various charges and fees, amounted to over $82,120.

Chapman says the vehicle had defects related to its engine components, claiming these defects existed at the time when the vehicle left GM's control and pose reliability and safety concerns. Chapman took the vehicle for repairs to Bubba Oustalet, an authorized service and repair facility of GM from June 26, 2023 through September 5, 2023. During this period, the vehicle was reportedly useless for a minimum of 73 days due to a defective engine that required replacement.

The lawsuit is based on the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and Redhibition pursuant to the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.
