In a case filed in the Civil District Court, Orleans Parish (case number 2020-10769), Shalmon Stennis has brought a lawsuit against Lowe's Home Centers, LLC and R.D. Morris, an employee of Lowe's. The appeal was heard by the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal, State of Louisiana on April 2, 2024 (case number 2023-CA-0482).

The lawsuit arises from an altercation that occurred at Lowe's Home Center in New Orleans on November 11, 2020. Stennis, represented by attorneys Artis G.
