In the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, Leonon Suazo has filed a lawsuit against GO Marine Services, L.L.C. and Offshore Service Vessels, L.L.C. The case, identified as 2:24-cv-00887-BSL-MBN, was lodged on April 9th, 2024.

Suazo, an American seaman and citizen of Louisiana, was employed by GO Marine and worked on the offshore supply vessel C-Endurance operated by Offshore Service Vessels. On May 19th, 2023, while performing his duties on the vessel's deck, he sustained severe injuries after falling on his back while attempting to move a pump up a set of stairs under instruction from an engineer believed to be an employee of Offshore Service Vessels.

The plaintiff accuses both defendants of negligence under the Jones Act and general maritime law. He alleges that they failed to maintain a safe working environment, provide adequate training and manpower for tasks such as lifting heavy equipment like pumps and dollies, implement safety protocols or provide proper emergency medical treatment.

Suazo is seeking damages for his injuries resulting from the defendants' alleged negligence. He asserts that their failure to provide a seaworthy vessel with adequate gear and crew directly caused his injuries.
