In the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, plaintiff Tanya Brown has filed a lawsuit against JetBlue Airways Corporation. The case, bearing ID 2:24-cv-00880-CJB-DPC, was lodged on April 8, 2024. The complaint alleges violations of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 by JetBlue.

Ms. Brown, represented by her attorney, accuses JetBlue of discriminatory practices based on her recognized disabilities which include post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, bipolar disorder, Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and anxiety. The complaint states that JetBlue was aware of these disabilities since January 2021. Ms. Brown had applied for employment with JetBlue as a flight attendant in February 2011.

The plaintiff alleges that she faced discrimination during periods when she took leave due to various personal circumstances including loss through miscarriage, jury duty, recovery from PTSD and a pedestrian accident, and extreme bereavement upon losing two brothers to suicide. She claims that all these events occurred within the jurisdiction of the Eastern District of Louisiana where JetBlue operates its business.

Ms. Brown is seeking redress for the alleged violations under the mentioned acts. She argues that she is part of a protected class due to her diagnosed disabilities and alleges disability discrimination under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and Americans with Disabilities Act.
