In the Louisiana Court of Appeal, First Circuit, Kelly O. Orgeron has filed an appeal against Edward J. Orgeron Jr., case ID 2023 CA 0858, with the judgment rendered on February 26, 2024. The case was initially heard in the 22nd Judicial District Court for the Parish of St. Tammany under case number 2020-11929, Division K.

Kelly L. Orgeron and Edward J. Orgeron Jr., who were married on February 19, 1997, separated on February 24, 2020. Two days later, Edward filed a petition for divorce in East Baton Rouge Parish Family Court. Robert C. Lowe and Paula H. Lee represent Kelly while Randall A. Smith and Andre M. Stolier are representing Edward.

The contested issues revolve around certain contracts between Edward and his employer, Louisiana State University (LSU), funds received by My 3 Tiger Boyz LLC, and two separate commercial agreements involving St Joseph Hospice LLC executed in December 2019 and March 2020 respectively.

Kelly is seeking a community interest in these contracts and funds which the trial court denied except for the December 2019 contract with St Joseph Hospice LLC.
