Antoine Victor has filed a lawsuit against Lafayette Consolidated Government, Officer John Doe 1, Officer John Doe 2, and XYZ Insurance Company in the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana. The case ID is 6:24-cv-00560 and it was filed on April 26, 2024.

Victor alleges that on April 30, 2023, he was followed home by Lafayette Police Department vehicles. Upon enquiry about their presence, officers identified as John Doe 1 and John Doe 2 allegedly released a K-9 on him and physically assaulted him. The plaintiff claims to have been detained without charge and suffered physical injuries requiring hospital treatment.

The complaint states that as a result of the incident, Victor experienced severe physical and mental trauma including fear, humiliation, anxiety, pain and suffering. He argues that there was no justification for his detention or the force used against him, accusing Officers John Doe 1 and John Doe 2 of acting out of malice and intentional indifference to his rights.

Victor seeks judgment for assault, battery, excessive force, unlawful arrest/detention, intentional infliction of emotional distress among other acts of negligence under Louisiana law. He accuses the officers of violating his health, welfare, constitutional and other legal rights.
