Kenya Nixon has filed a lawsuit against Amazon in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana. The case, identified as 3:24-cv-00353-SDJ-RLB, was filed on May 3, 2024. The suit alleges retaliation and disability-based discrimination under the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Nixon, represented by attorney Natalie Blackmon, claims she experienced race and disability-based discrimination while employed at Amazon. Hired in 2021 as a Safety Manager II and later promoted to Safety Manager III, Nixon alleges that she faced harassment from her colleagues and superiors following her reporting of a colleague's falsification of fire watch reports.

She further alleges that her complaints about this issue were not investigated until December 2022 - January 2023. Nixon also claims that she was subjected to ongoing retaliatory behavior by Daniel Rodriguez due to her involvement in reporting a safety violation that led to the termination of an operations manager.

Nixon is seeking judgment against Amazon for alleged violations of the Civil Rights Act. She claims that the company failed to adequately address her complaints about workplace harassment and discrimination.
