The Southern University System announced members of the search committee for the next chancellor of the Southern University Law Center. The diverse group — selected by Myron K. Lawson, chairman of the SU System Board of Supervisors, and Dennis J. Shields, president of the SU System — represents current SULC students and employees, community members, and business leaders.
The search committee members are:
- Angela Allen Bell, Professor at SULC
- Aishala Burgess, Assistant District Attorney for East Baton Rouge Parish and SULC alumnus
- Angela Scott Gaines, Director of Facilities/ADA Coordinator for SULC
- Joshua G. Hollins, Director of Public Finance at Stifel and SULC alumnus
- Erin Monroe, Greater Louisiana Market Vice President for Cox Communications
- Okechukwu Oko, Professor at SULC
- Whitley Parker, SULC Student and Student Bar Association President
- Alejandro “Al” Perkins, Managing Partner at Hammonds, Sills, Adkins, Guice, Noah & Perkins LLP
- Winston W. Riddick Sr., Lawyer and Former SULC Professor
- Tarvald Anthony Smith, Judge (District 19, Division A) and SULC alumnus
- James E. Stewart, Sr., Caddo Parish District Attorney
