Attorney General Liz Murrill's Office arrests former Director of Winn Parish Council on Aging for mishandling agency funds for personal use

Agents with Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill's Office arrested the former Director of the Winn Parish Council on Aging on October 30.

Jennifer Higgs (DOB: 11/6/1982), of Larry Bruce Road in Winnfield, is accused of mishandling agency funds for personal use. 

Louisiana Bureau of Investigation agents determined that Higgs misappropriated approximately $59,000 in funds belonging to the Winn Parish Council on Aging through various schemes to cover up her crimes.

With the assistance of the Winn Parish Sheriff’s Office, Higgs was arrested for violation of :

LA R.S.  14:70.8 Illegal Transmission of Funds

LA R.S. 14:72 (1) Forgery

LA R.S. 14:67B (1) Theft over $25,000.00.

Higgs was booked into the Winn Parish Detention Center. 

Her bond has reportedly been set at $50,000.00
