Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Cyber Crime Unit arrested a man from Iota on November 6, 2024.

41-year-old Charles Wayne Timmons, of Gotts Cove Road in Iota, was arrested for violating:

2 counts LA R.S. 14:81 Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile (Felony)

2 counts LA R.S. 14:81.3 Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor (Felony)

Agents initially got a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

This arrest was the result of a joint investigation with the General Murrill’s Cyber Crime Unit, the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office, and Homeland Security Investigations.

“If you harm our kids you're going to jail,” said Attorney General Liz Murrill.

Our Cyber Crime Unit believes the suspect has been communicating with other juveniles in the area. We are asking the Acadia and Jefferson Davis Parish communities to report any relevant information.

Timmons was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail.

His bond information is still reportedly pending at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
