Bicyclist sues over accident injuries

A bicyclist is suing Allstate and Jolene and Ronald Gettridge over injuries she allegedly sustained during an accident last year.

According to a complaint filed May 4 in Orleans Parish District Court, Delana Lawson of Jefferson Parish was riding her bicycle along Lakeshore Dr. in New Orleans when a vehicle operated by Jolene Gettridge of New Orleans made a right hand turn crashing into her and throwing her onto the concrete.

The complaint alleges that the sole and proximate cause of the accident was the defendant's failure to yield, careless operation of the vehicle, failure to keep a proper lookout and inattentive driving and all other acts.

Lawson is seeking damages for back, neck, arm, wrist and shoulder injuries, physical and mental pain and suffering, medical expenses, scarring, property damage and all other damages which may be proven at trial.

Lawson is being represented by Blaine M. Herbert of New Orleans.
