During a transfer from the personnel basket of a gulf oil platform to a transport vessel, Clinton Brown claims he was injured when the basket was set down in a hazardous location.
Brown filed a lawsuit against Wadleigh Energy Group, Chermaine Marine, and others on April 29 in federal court in New Orleans.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred on Oct. 21, 2009 when defendant John Doe, transported Brown in a personnel basket from West Cameron 593 oil platform to a transport vessel in the Gulf of Mexico.
"The personnel basket was set down in a hazardous location and manner, causing Mr. Brown to sustain injuries," the complaint states. Brown claims he suffered a severe injury to his neck, back and shoulders.
Brown states his injuries were caused by the negligence and intentional acts of the crane operator and the captain of the transport vessel.
He is seeking damages for mental and physical pain and suffering, lost wages, loss of future earning capacity and related expenses, interest and court costs.
New Orleans attorney Rodney Kelp Littlefield of Martin E. Regan, Jr. & Associates is representing Brown.
