Company sued for $245,000 in past due balances

With more than $245,000 in past due balances, Specialty Rental Tools & Supply and Sooner Pipe filed suit against Virgin Offshore U.S.A. on July 12 in Orleans Parish District Court.

Sooner Pipe states that it shipped pipe to Virgin Offshore in Plaquemines Parish in Decemer 2008 but has not received a payment for the $202,851.07 owed.

The defendant then ordered $44,658.08 in materials and supplies from Specialty Rental Tools in Feb. 2009. Specialty Rental Tools states the defendant has not paid the balance due.

Both companies are seeking an award for their past due balances plus interest, attorney's fees and costs.

The petitioners are represented by Albert J. Derbes, IV and Frederick L. Bunol of The Derbes Law Firm in Metairie.

Judge Lloyd J. Medley is assigned to the case.
