NEW ORLEANS-Two former employees of New Orleans Housing Authority are suing for wrongful termination.

Nadja W. Carr and Dennis Blossom filed suit against the Housing Authority of New Orleans doing business as Hano and ABC Insurance Co. on July 15 in Orleans Parish District Court.

According to the complaint, Carr was terminated on July 26, 2009, for not adhering to the defendant's policies and procedures.

Blossom was terminated on Nov. 23, 2009, nearly two years after an investigation concluded he performed unauthorized work during nonworking hours and on behalf of a third-party vendor.

The defendant is accused of violating due process, inflicting serious emotional distress and defaming Carr and Blossom's character and good names.

The plaintiffs are seeking damages for mental pain and suffering, negligent infliction of emotional distress, anxiety, worry, inconvenience, medical expenses, loss of wages and impaired earning capacity, loss of consortium, attorney fees and costs, fringe benefits, interest and court costs.

Carr and Blossom are represented by Lionel Lon Burns in New Orleans.

Judge Madeleine M. Landrieu is assigned to the case.
