A St. Charles electrical company claims a local construction company owes more than $95,000 for work already completed.
River Bend Electrical LLC filed a lawsuit against RJC Services Inc., doing business as JaRoy Construction, and Ohio Casualty Insurance Company Oct. 20 in Orleans Parish District Court.
According to the complaint, River Bend entered into a subcontract with JaRoy Construction to work on a Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development building in March 2008. River Bend says it agreed on a price, completed the work and charged JaRoy nearly $640,000.
River Bend says JaRoy still owes more than $95,000 on contract and, despite numerous efforts including a lien, the bill remains unpaid.
River Bend is suing for breach of contract and asking for the remaining balance of the bill plus interest, damages and court costs.
Attorneys Melanie M. Mulcahy and Albert J. Derbes IV of Metairie are representing River Bend Electrical.
