Two Louisiana maritime companies are being sued by an employee after bedroom lockers fell on top of her causing severe injury.
Lisa D. Hebert filed suit against Swiftships Shipbuilders and Barges Unlimited Inc. on Feb. 23 in federal court in New Orleans.
The incident occurred on March 31, 2010 as Hebert was cleaning the bedrooms upon the defendant's barge. She
The defendants are accused of failing to exercise ordinary care to have the barge and equipment in such a condition to allow Hebert to perform her duties with reasonable safety, failing to warn of hidden dangers and failing to properly secure the lockers so as to prevent them from toppling over.
Hebert is seeking damages for mental and physical pain and suffering, medical expenses, loss of wages and impairment of earning capacity, lost enjoyment of life, interest and court costs.
