A bank employee has filed a lawsuit against a Harahan bank after she was allegedly terminated a day after requesting medical leave.
Claiming violations of the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act, Pamela G. Dychtwald filed suit against ASI Federal Credit Union on April 26 in federal court in New Orleans.
According to the lawsuit, the day after requesting a medical leave of absence, Dychtwald was terminated due to a "lack of trust and confidence."
The plaintiff is asking the court for reinstatement to her former position or front pay, plus compensatory damages for pain and suffering, emotional distress, humiliation, loss of enjoyment of life, punitive damages, liquidated damages, attorney fees and interest.
Dychtwald is represented by Stephen Rose of Carver, Darden, Loretzky, Tessier, Finn, Blossman & Areaux in New Orleans. A jury trial is requested.
