DONALDSONVILLE – A terminated recycling service employee is suing his former employer for allegedly withholding his final paycheck.

Larry Wainwright filed suit on Jan. 14 in the 23rd Judicial District Court against Riverside Recycling.

Wainwright claims he worked for Riverside for nearly four years before he was fired and his last paycheck was withheld. The plaintiff alleges he submitted verbal and written request to the company for repayment of the wages, but the defendant failed to pay the disputed wages.

The plaintiff is seeking $1,000 for a week's worth of unpaid wages, a statutory penalty in the amount of 90 days wages and the payment of applicable attorney's fees.

Wainwright is being represented by Carmen T. Hebert of Baton Rouge-based Carleton Loraso LLC.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge John L. Peytavin.
