NEW ORLEANS – A Jefferson Parish property holding company is suing for property damages that were allegedly caused by an energy provider.

Baronne Development No. 2 filed suit on Feb. 2 in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court against Entergy Louisiana, LLC. The plaintiffs allege equipment owned by Entergy failed and exploded at their property at 210 Baronne Street in New Orleans resulting in significant damage.

Baronne Development No. 2 claims the transformer equipment was installed at the property in 1983 by New Orleans Public Service, Inc. which entered into an agreement to be responsible for its maintenance prior to Entergy becoming the successor of the equipment before the incident occurred in 2007.

An unspecified amount in damages for all damages, loss, injuries and costs related to the malfunction and explosion.

The plaintiff is being represented by Edward F. Downing, III of the Gauthier, Houghtaling and Williams of Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Kern A. Reese.
