Pretzel company sued over allegedly bounced checks

DONALDSONVILLE – An Assumption Parish food products provider is suing an Ascension Parish pretzel maker for allegedly submitting checks that bounced.

A-1 Farms and A-1 Food mart filed suit on Feb. 27 in the 23rd Judicial District against Pretzel Twister 2 and its owner Ricky Wise.

A-1 Farms alleges Wise made payments by check on an open account with the plaintiff and that payment on those checks was refused by Wise's bank. The plaintiff claims the defendant knew or should have known there was not enough money in the account to cover the check payments.

Damages in the amount of $4,528.50 is being sought for the past due account in addition to applicable attorney and legal fees.

A-1 is being represented by Justin B. Champlin of Baton Rouge-based Champlin Law Firm.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge Guy Holdridge.
