Prairieville Wal-Mart sued by patron in slip and fall

DONALDSONVILLE – An Ascension Parish woman is suing a local retailer for injuries she claims occurred on their premises.

Lori H. Willard filed suit on April 27, 2012 in the 23rd Judicial District against Wal-Mart Louisiana. Willard claims she was shopping at the Prairieville Wal-Mart when she slipped in a clear liquid and fell. The plaintiff alleges she injured her left arm, left hand, neck and right knee in the fall.

The defendant is accused of failing to maintain the premises, failing to post wet floor signs and failing to properly inspect the premises.

An unspecified amount in damages for mental anguish, physical suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, medical care expenses, travel expenses to and from medical appointments, lost earnings, impairment of earning capacity and insurance policy deductibles.

Willard is being represented by William E. "Skip" Willard of Prairieville-based the Willard Law Firm.

The case has been assigned to Division E Alvin Turner, Jr.
