CVS Pharmacy sued by woman who allegedly tripped in parking lot

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish woman is suing a national pharmacy chain for injuries she claims to have received in a fall in the parking lot of one of their local locations.

Yolanda Hunter filed suit against CVS Pharmacy on May 21 in the 24th Judicial District Court.

Hunter claims she was in the parking lot of the CBS Pharmacy located at 1600 Lapalce Blvd. in Harvey when she tripped on the pavement adjacent to the sidewalk and fell to the ground. The plaintiff alleges in the fall she received injuries to her left leg, left knee, left shoulder, left foot and ankle and the entire left side of her body. Hunter asserts the injuries resulted in necessary medical treatment and testing.

The defendant is accused of permitting the unsafe condition, failing to prevent the accident, neglecting to repair the unsafe condition, maintaining a tripping hazard, maintaining a dangerously unlevel parking lot surface, not keeping the premises safe and failing to warn of the hazard.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, medical expenses, loss of earnings and permanent disability.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Stephen J. Windhorst.

Hunter is being represented by New Orleans-based attorney Robert B. Haik.

Case number 715075.
