GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish woman is suing a local casino for injures she claims she received on its premises.
Carolyn Bergeron filed suit against Louisiana I-Gaming, Boomtown Casino New Orleans, Aristocrat Technologies and their insurers in the 24th Judicial District Court.
Bergeron claims she was seated at a slot machine in the Boomtown Casino located at 4132 Peters Road in Harvey when a piece of a sign fell and hit her on the head, hands, shoulders and legs. The plaintiff alleges she suffered bodily injuries in the incident.
The defendant is accused of failing to properly install the sign, failing to properly train their employees, failing to inspect the sign and failing to warn of the hazard.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for mental anguish, medical expenses, pain and suffering, wage loss, loss of earning capacity, property damage, loss of enjoyment of life, permanent impairment and transportation expense.
