Dental supply company seeks to garnish wages of New Orleans dentist

NEW ORLEANS – A national dental supply company is seeking to garnish the wages of a local dentist to satisfy a past judgment.

Patterson Dental Supply Inc. filed suit against Lance Babin, DDS in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on July 5.

Patterson Dental Supply claims to have won a past judgment in the amount of $5,656.62 plus attorney's fees of $1,200 from Babin, who has not fully paid the damages. The plaintiff alleges Babin has deposited funds in an account at Whitney Bank that they should be able to seize for payment.

The defendant is accused of not paying on a past judgment and withholding funds from the plaintiff.

The plaintiff is requesting the funds owed to them be seized from Babin's Whitney Bank account.

Patterson Dental Supply is represented by Philip J. Gallagher of Baton Rouge-based Powers, Sellers & Chapoton LLP.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge Sidney H. Cates IV.
