Entergy sues Sewerage and Water Board for property damage

NEW ORLEANS – The city's energy provider has sued a city department for property damages.

Entergy New Orleans, Inc. filed suit against New Orleans Sewerage& Water Board in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on July 9.

Entergy claims the Sewerage and Water board damaged their facilities on the 500 block of St. Peters Street in New Orleans. The plaintiff alleges that due to the damage they have incurred costs for repair.

The defendant is accused of negligent destruction of the plaintiff's property, failing to inspect work area, failing to connect the plaintiff prior to find out the location of the plaintiff's property prior beginning a work project and failing to maintain proper control of work equipment.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought by the plaintiff.

Entergy is represented by New Orleans-based attorney W. Scott Brown.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Tiffany G. Chase.

Case no. 2012-06648.
