Man sues after allegedly injuring himself in slip and fall at shopping center

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish man is suing a number of defendants for injuries he claims to have received in a slip and fall incident.

Harry L. Blissett filed suit against Family Dollar Stores of Louisiana, Inc., Moran Foods, LLC, Save A Lot, Ltd., Kenner Plaza Shopping Center, LLC and Skyrider, Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Aug. 23. Blissett claims he was walking in the Family Dollar located at 3408 Williams Blvd. in Kenner when he slipped and fell in water on the store's floor. The plaintiff alleges the water had leaked into through Save A Lot, which is an adjoining business. Blissett asserts that he received severe and disabling injuries in the fall.

The defendant is accused of creating and allowing a hazardous condition, failing to warn patrons of hazard and failing to provide a safe facility.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for physical pain and suffering, emotional distress, inconvenience and mental anguish.

Blissett is represented by Kenner-based attorney James R. Guest.

The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn B. Ansardi.

Case no. 718-538.
