Tire Kingdom sued by woman for allegedly not fully repairing brake system

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish woman is suing after her car was damaged in an accident allegedly due to faulty repairs by a car repair service provider.

Joneka Henry filed suit against TBC Retail Group, Inc., Tire Kingdom and their insurer in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 10.

Henry claims that she visited the Tire Kingdom located at 2409 Manhattan Blvd. in Harvey and received an oil change, replaced two tires, changed front brake pads and other services. The plaintiff alleges that 11 days after receiving the service she lost control of her vehicle due to brake failure and rear ended another vehicle.

After the accident Henry asserts that another auto shop diagnosed her car as having a bad master cylinder that should have been replaced at the time of the previous brake maintenance.

The defendant is accused of failing to properly repair brakes, failing to warn of other hazards after the inspection of the vehicle and failing to inform the plaintiff of possible mechanical failure.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for medical expenses, mental pain and suffering, physical pain and suffering and residual disability.

Henry is represented by attorney Tim L. Fields of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.

Case no. 719-914.
