Man sued over alleged attack of another man at Grand Isle

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish man is accusing another local man of severely injuring him in an attack.

Mario Santiny filed suit against Miles D. Caufield in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 12. Santiny claims that on Oct. 4, 2011 he went to a home on Grand Isle to pick up some of his belongings and that when he pulled in the driveway Caufield pulled in behind him. The plaintiff alleges that the defendant accused him of hitting his sister and began to strike him. Santiny asserts that due to the battery he received serious injuries to his neck, face, jaw and other parts of his body.

The defendant is accused of battery.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for medical expenses, physical pain and suffering, mental pain and suffering, physical disability and loss of enjoyment of life.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond S. Steib.
