Shoring company sued by man whose property was left uneven after home raising

GRETNA – A Livingston Parish man is suing a shoring company and its owner for allegedly damaging his home when lifting it.

Luis Alvarado filed suit against Omar Oceguera, Triple OH Shoring, Inc. and their insurer in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 29.

Alvarado claims that he entered into a contract with Triple OH Shoring to raise his home in July 2007 who he paid in full upon the completion of the job. The plaintiff alleges that Oceguera, as the owner of the defendant company, returned to his home in November 2007 and acknowledged the home was not level and that the work was defective. Oceguera asserts that the defendants never fixed the alleged defect in the home and that it is still not level.

The defendant is accused of failing to provide complete and safe work, failing to fix the unsatisfactory work, failing to provide adequate worksmanship and breach of contract.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought to have the lifetime warranty enacted or have the home repaired as well as for inconvenience, attorney’s fees, judicial interest, loss of use, loss of value and court costs.

Alvarado is representing himself in the case.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge John J. Molaison.

Case no. 720-608.
