New Orleans Nightclub 'The Metropolitan' sued over slip and fall

NEW ORLEANS– A local nightclub is being sued after a woman allegedly fell in the VIP section due to spilled liquor, alcohols, mixers and ice.

Michelle Gaston Mancini and husband Richard, and on behalf of their minor children Braden Giovanni Mancini and Spencer Giuseppe Mancini, filed a lawsuit against Venture International LLC, Generations Hall, also known as The Metropolitan, and Admiral Insurance Company in the Orleans Parish Central District Court on Oct. 30.

The plaintiff allegedly sustained severe injuries to her hand, wrist and arms. According to the complaint, the defendant’s staff failed to respond in a timely manner and is deemed responsible for the liquid accumulated on the floor of VIP.

The defendant is accused of failing to monitor the VIP area for any spills, allowing customers to spill, pour, mix and serve alcohol in an area not reasonable outfitted with mats to absorbs spills or provide grip on floor, causing risk of harm and failure to exercise due care in assisting the plaintiff’s following the accident.

The plaintiff is seeking full compensation for all damages including pain and suffering, emotional distress, loss of consortium for her children and husband.

The plaintiff is represented by Gregory Thomas Akers of Akers Law Firm, LLC.

This case has been assigned to Division D Judge Lloyd J. Medley.

Case no. 2012-10222.
