NEW ORLEANS –  A Marrero woman is suing after being injured on a construction job site.

Patrica Terrebonne filed suit against Clark Construction Group LLC, Boh Brothers Construction Company, McCarthy Building Companies Inc. and Clark/McCarthy Healthcare Partners in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Nov. 15.

Terrebonne was employed as a pile logger on the Veterans Administration Hospital job site in May 2012, the suit claims. On May 7, she tripped on debris, injuring her right knee. The injury required arthroscopic knee surgery and a total knee replacement, the suit claims.

The defendant is accused of failing to provide for the safety of the plaintiff, failing to provide a safe ingress and egress to the job site,  allowing debris and twisted metals to remain in the area where work was being constructed and failing to exercise safety precautions and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.

An unspecified amount of damages is sought for medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, emotional stress and strain, permanent residual disability, loss of earning capacity, loss of enjoyment of life and disfigurement.

The plaintiff is represented by Darleen M. Jacobs of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin M. Giarrusso.

Case No. 2012-10699.
