GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish woman claims her daughter was injured in a fall in a liquid substance on the premises of a local Winn-Dixie.
Chantelle Moten, on behalf of her minor child, filed suit against Winn-Dixie Montgomery LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on Dec. 20. Moten claims she and her daughter were visiting the Winn-Dixie at Avondale when her daughter stepped in a liquid substance and fell to the floor. The plaintiff alleges her daughter injured her knee and back in the fall.
The defendant is accused of failing to maintain its premises in a safe condition, allowing a dangerous condition to exist, causing a dangerous condition on the premises, failing to warn customers of a dangerous condition and failing to clean up a dangerous condition.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, pain and suffering, medical expenses, disability, embarrassment and humiliation.
