NEW ORLEANS – A patron of a local Wal-Mart claims she sustained injuries in a slip and fall at the establishment.
Sharon Jasper filed a lawsuit against Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and its insurer in the Orleans Parish Central District Court on Dec. 6. Jasper claims that while leaving the restroom in the defendant's store she slipped and fell due to water on the floor. The plaintiff claims she was severely injured in the fall.
The defendant is accused of failure to provide a safe environment for patrons, failure to warn of unsafe conditions and failure to properly maintain the premises.
The suit does not specify the amount sought for all damages which include medical expenses and disability.
Tim Fields, of the New Orleans-based The Law Offices of Tim Fields, is the attorney for the plaintiff.
This case has been assigned to Division I Judge Piper D. Griffin Chief Judge.
