GRETNA – A debt collection company is suing a communications company for defaulting on the debt it purchased.
The Interface Financial Group filed suit against Integrated Communications Technology Inc. (ITI), Sandra Tidwell Waters, Tabatha D. Waters and Thomas D. Waters III in the 24th Judicial District Court on Jan. 7.
The Interface Financial Group claims it purchased debts held by the defendants on behalf of their customers. The plaintiff alleges those debts were to be paid to them by ITI or the customers themselves and that all debts were up to date at the time of purchase. The Interface Financial Group asserts that a customer whose debt they had purchased and ITI both failed to pay debt of $19,926 in a timely manner, but they did pay part of the debt.
The defendant is accused of breach of contract.
The plaintiff seeks $7,540.62 and an order requiring ITI purchase back customer debt it originally sold.
The Interface Financial Group is represented by E. Stewart Spielman of Baton Rouge-based McGlinchey Stafford PLLC.
The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Henry G. Sullivan Jr.
Case no. 722-711.
