NEW ORLEANS – A Jefferson Parish woman is suing the City of New Orleans claiming she sustained injuries on the premises of the City Hall.
Bonnie Steen filed a lawsuit Dec. 19 against the City of New Orleans in the Orleans Parish Central District Court. Steen alleges that while walking in a walkway on the defendant’s premises she tripped and fell due to a dangerous condition in the walkway. The filing doesn’t specify what the "dangerous condition" was that caused her to trip.
The defendant is accused of allowing a dangerous condition to exist on their premises, failing to properly maintain premises and failing to warn petitioner of the hazardous condition on the property.
An unspecified amount is sought for severe physical pain and suffering, medical expenses, lost wages and emotional distress.
The plaintiff is represented by Charles M. Thomas of New Orleans-based Huber, Slack, Houghtaling, Pandit & Thomas LLP.
This case has been assigned to Division A Judge Tiffany G. Chase.
