Man thrown out of bar sues owners and managers claiming permanent disability

GRETNA – A Metairie man is suing a local bar for injuries he claims he received when he was thrown out of the establishment.

Ronald J. Krummel Sr. filed suit against Vic & Sue LLC, Tarpon Joe's Bar and Grill and William Healy in the 24th Judicial District Court on Jan. 22.

Krummel claims when he was a patron at Tarpon Joe's Bar and Grill located at 205 David Drive in Metairie when we was ejected from the bar by its manager William Healy. The plaintiff alleges that the defendants later brought charges of simple assault against him, but those charges were dismissed. Krummel asserts he received permanent scarring and disfigurement in the incident as well as injuries to his right shoulder, rotator cuff, left knee, head, face, neck, back and body as a whole.

The defendants are accused of forcibly removing the plaintiff from his bar stool, forcibly removing the plaintiff from the bar premises, allowing plaintiff to fall to the ground and malicious prosecution.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, medical expenses, permanent scarring and disfigurement and permanent disability.

Krummel is represented by New Orleans-based attorney Clarence F. Favret III.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Nancy A. Miller.
