Pedestrian sues exterminating company whose vehicle he claims ran over him

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish man is suing a local extermination company and one of its employees he claims ran him over in a vehicle.

William L. Robinson filed suit against J&J Exterminating Company Incorporated, J&J Exterminating Company of New Orleans LLC, Southern Environmental, Chartis Insurance Company and an unknown driver in the 24th Judicial District Court on Jan. 28.

Robinson claims he was outside of the Chase Bank on Wall Street in Gretna when an unknown man driving a J&J Exterminating vehicle exited a drive-up ATM and ran into him. The plaintiff alleges he received multiple injuries in the incident.

The defendant is accused of failing to properly stop, failing to yield, careless operation of a motor vehicle and failing to see what should have been seen.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for personal injury, lost wages and reimbursement for medical expenses.

Robinson is represented by Edwin M. Shorty of New Orleans-based Edwin M. Shorty and Associates.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robert A. Pitre Jr.
