GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish woman is suing a local mall for injuries she claims to have received in a fall on its premises.
Tracy Christian filed suit against Dollar Tree Stores Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Feb. 5.
Christian claims she was at the Dollar Tree located at 800 S. Clearview Parkway in Harahan. The plaintiff alleges she lost her footing on a slippery substance and fell to the floor. Christian asserts she received painful and disabling injuries to her back, buttocks and tailbone injuries in the fall.
The defendant is accused of permitting a slippery condition to exist on the premises floor, failing to exercise reasonable care, failing to warn the plaintiff of the hazard and failing to employ adequate and regular clean up procedures.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for physical pain and suffering, emotional pain and suffering, loss of earnings, loss of earning capacity and permanent disability.
Christian is represented by Robert B. Haik of New Orleans-based Haik & Haik Law Offices.
The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen Shirer Kovach.
