GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish woman is suing her landlord for injuries she claims to have received in a fall in the apartment building’s stairwell.
Yasmin Osorio filed suit against The Medve Group Inc., The Terraces Apartments and their insurer in the 24th Judicial District Court on March. 14.
Osorio claims she was walking down the stairway at The Terraces Apartments located at 3913 I-10 Service Road in Metairie when her foot became lodged in a stair and she fell. The plaintiff alleges she received painful and serious injuries in the fall.
The defendant is accused of allowing an unsafe condition to exist, failing to properly maintain and warn of the danger, failing to timely inspect the walkway, creating or maintaining a defective condition and allowing a dangerous condition to exist after proper notice.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, permanent damage, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses and economic damages.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Stephen D. Enright Jr.
