GRETNA – A Mississippi construction company is suing a local government entity and its contractor for alleged non-payment.
Gulf Coast Masonry LLC filed suit against CATCO General Contractors LLC, the Hanover Insurance Company and Parish of Jefferson in the 24th Judicial District Court on March. 14.
Gulf Coast Masonry claims it was subcontracted by CATCO to provide work on a project for Jefferson Parish. The plaintiff alleges it was never fully paid for the work completed even though a certificate of substantial completion was filed with Jefferson Parish mortgage records on March 15, 2012.
Gulf Coast Masonry LLC claims CATCO owes them $17,781.20 under their work contract.
The defendant is accused of breach of contract.
Damages in the amount of $17,781.20 are sought by the plaintiff.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.
