Nursing home sued after resident falls in bathtub

NEW ORLEANS - A resident of a New Orleans nursing home is suing for an undisclosed amount after suffering an injury in a bathtub.

Tracy Perkins filed suit against Covenant Nursing Home on May 1.

On May 7, 2012, while living at the Covenant Nursing Home located at 5919 Magazine Street in New Orleans, Tracy Perkins claims she slipped and fell on an unknown wet substance when making her way to the bathroom. She sustained multiple bruises, strains to her lumbar, left wrist, left ankle and post traumatic headaches. She claims the nursing home had allowed for dangerous conditions to exist and failed to provide safe surrounding for guest.

The Covenant Nursing Homes is accused of gross and wanton negligence.

Tracy Perkins is represented by Stephen F. Harris Jr. of the New Orleans-based Birdsall Law Firm Inc.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Lloyd J. Medley Jr.

Case No. 2013-04186.
