Hurricane cleanup workers claim they are owed $544K

GRETNA –Four entities that worked together to provide storm cleanup assistance and financing following Hurricane Isaac are suing.

Talon Services LLC, R2 Consultants LLC, Advance Funding Payroll Ltd. and Roland Orgeron Sr. filed suit against Triad Response Group LLC, Scott Butaud and B&B Fire and Safety Services Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 4.

The plaintiffs claim they provided services for Triad Response Group LLC, Scott Butaud and B&B Fire and Safety Services Inc. during the months of August-December 2012 and are owed $544,800.77 altogether for duties they provided. Talon Services LLC alleges that they were contracted by Triad to provide debris cleanup following Hurricane Isaac, debris cleanup following Hurricane Sandy in New York, vacuum and delivery trucks and cleanup after an ammonia leak at an industrial plant near Abbeville, La. for which they are owed $77,269.60.

R2 claims they contracted with Advance in the amount of $367,531.17 for personnel to perform scrap metal burning at Anadarko Petroleum in September 2012, providing licensed personnel to operate commercial tucks, loaned funds for the completion of a fire foam project for a Strategic Petroleum Reserve project and funds loaned in August 2012 for completion of a construction project at the Abbeville Ammonia Plant.

Orgeron claims that Butaud and B&B owe them $100,000 for a loan they provided.

The defendants is accused of breach of contract and non-payment.

Damages in the amount of $367,531.17 plus attorney’s fees are sought by the plaintiffs.

The plaintiffs are represented by Paul D. Hale of New Orleans-based Deutsch, Kerrigan & Stiles LLP.

The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn B. Ansardi.
