GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish woman is suing her a condominium association and landlord after she was allegedly injured in a fall in the condo due to rainwater seeping into the unit.
Yvonne Jackson Landry filed suit against the Woodridge Condominium Association Inc., the Riverside Court Condominium Association Inc., Desray Krause, Nayanka Nero and State Farm Fire and Casualty Company in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 6.
Landry claims she was in her apartment located at 2509 Giuffrias Ave. Unit 619 in Metairie when she slipped in a puddle that was created by rainwater leaking into the building. The plaintiff alleges she received severe and traumatic injuries in the incident.
The defendant is accused of failing to maintain the premises under its ownership and care in a safe condition, failing to properly inspect the premises, failing to correct a dangerous condition, making false and misleading representations about the condition and failing to warn of the hazard.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for medical expenses and pain and suffering.
Landry is represented by attorney Thomas E. Campbell of Metairie.
The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.
