GRETNA – A local events planner is suing a Jefferson Parish-based minor league baseball team for allegedly canceling an event it was organizing at the baseball organization’s swimming facility.
Player’s Club Corporation and Donald Claiborne filed suit against Zephyr Field Amusement LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on July 1.
Player’s Club Corporation and Claiborne claim they entered into a contract with Zephyr Field Amusement to hold an event during a baseball game. The plaintiffs allege that in the lead up to the event they printed numerous flyers and tickets and contracted an internet marketing company to promote the event as well as pulled on their own customers. Player’s Club Corporation and Claiborne assert that Zephyr Field Amusement failed to meet their obligations by canceling the event.
The defendant is accused of breach of contract and bad faith.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for loss of business income, loss of business opportunities, damage to reputation, finance charges and cost of time diverted from business opportunities.
The plaintiffs are represented by attorney Raymond A. Brown of Kenner.
The case has been assigned to Division E Judge John J. Molaison Jr.
Case no. 728-538.
