Subcontractor sues contractor for alleged non-payment for work done on parish project

Breach of contract

GRETNA – A subcontractor on a Jefferson Parish project is suing the project’s main contractor for non-payment.

Specialized Civil Services LLC filed suit against Remarkable Landscaping LLC and Mark Busenlener in the 24th Judicial District Court on July 1.

Specialized Civil Services claims it entered into an oral contract and provided numerous services for Remarkable Landscaping on a Jefferson Parish property. The plaintiff claims it graded part of the grounds, provided fill material, built a curb alongside an adjacent street, installed concrete banding, installed a curb and gutter and delivered concrete for a backyard pool deck all at a cost of $9,502.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract, bad faith and malice.

Damages in the amount of $9,502 are sought.

Specialized Civil Services is represented by Heather M. Murphy of Metairie-based the Keating Law Firm LLC.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.
