NEW ORLEANS – A Baton Rouge attorney has voluntarily and permanently surrendered his law license after an investigation revealed several accusations that he took legal fees without doing work on behalf of his clients.
Bruce A. Craft, who was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar Association in 1991, was primarily a criminal attorney who practiced law out of his office located at 10627 Hillary Court in Baton Rouge.
According to a ruling released by the Louisiana Supreme Court, Craft had been under investigation by the Office of Disciplinary Council for allegedly accepting client fees, but not properly completing the legal work requested and then refusing to provide a refund.
Craft opted for permanent resignation from the Louisiana State Bar Association rather than undergo discipline from the Louisiana Supreme Court.
Under the agreement Craft can never again practice law in Louisiana.
It is unclear if Craft will face a criminal investigation over his alleged activities.
