Gap sued by shopper who was allegedly injured after stepping on pin

GRETNA – A corporate retailer is being sued by a New Orleans woman who claims she was injured when she stepped on a pin.

Shawn Rochon filed suit against the Gap Inc., a California Corporation, in the 24th Judicial District Court on Sept. 3.

Rochon claims on Oct. 1, 2012 she was a customer at the Gap located at Lakeside Mall at 3301 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Metairie when she was injured after stepping on a sensor pin. The plaintiff alleges she received bodily injuries to her foot and leg.

The defendant is accused of failing to properly maintain the premises, failing to warn customers of dangerous conditions, failing to adequately inspect the property, placing customers in perilous situations and creating a hazard.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for mental pain and suffering and medical expenses.

Rochon is represented by attorney Lillie E. Joyce of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner Jr.

Case no. 730-664.
