Jefferson Parish Housing Authority sued by woman who tripped on broken concrete

GRETNA – The Jefferson Parish Housing Authority is being sued by a woman who claims she was injured after tripping on a broken piece of concrete.

Elaine Savage filed suit against Jefferson Parish Housing Authority and A&A Lawncare and Landscape LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on Sept. 27.

Savage alleges as she was walking along a sidewalk located at on the 6500 block of Acre Road in Marrero that she tripped and fell on a piece of broken concrete. The plaintiff claims she was painfully and seriously injured in the incident.

The defendant is accused of failing to properly maintain the property in a reasonably safe condition, failing to keep rental property safe for tenants and guests, failing to inspect and learn of dangerous and defective conditions and failing to warn tenants and guest of hazards.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, permanent damage, loss of enjoyment of life and medical expenses.

Savage is represented by attorney Pierre F. Gaudin of Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.
